The soul of half an angel.
The body of a demon.
The devil on his tail.
When the devil came for Branan Lachlan and turned him into a demon, he expected to train the young Scotsman to be the antithesis of God and his own damned apprentice. Cursed at twenty-one, Branan fought his demonic character armed only with an iconic sword and an unwavering light in his belly. Plagued by an internal battle of good versus evil, one part of him playing against the other, he is destined to walk Scotland forever, neither living nor dying.
Until now.
Turning his brother to save Earc’s life, Branan returns to the fold of his tiny family to lead them on a strange journey through the devil’s world on Earth. He is helped by Fionna Frazier, a young peasant girl with a shocking secret of her own.
The trio travels around Macbeth’s Scotland trying to escape from the devil’s spawn, Raum. They meet vampires, druids, murderers, and a harpy, all which add adventure and demand they make choices between good versus evil. In the end, will they win the epic battle with Raum and return to God or will they lose their souls to Lucifer forever?

I require that a novel be both well written and interesting. The Tiefling satisfied both of these requirements. The narrative, characters, and research reflected quality writing. The internal struggle of Brannan kept me enthralled. The entire plot and cast of characters were intriguing; however, I always gravitate toward inner conflict, even if the battle includes a demon within. I would highly recommend The Teifling for any lover of the time period or the genre.Product details

The Tiefling Angel Kissed Devil Touched eBook Barbara Cerny Reviews
I was not sure what to expect when I jumped into this book. I'm glad I did. I was taken off guard at the amount of research that must have went into this novel and am quite pleased with the outcome. Bravo, Ms Cerny, bravo. I will be reading more.
An excellent read that uses the first person point of view from more than one character. The author did a fantastic job introducing a cast of characters (human and not) and the book will keeps the reader turning pages.
A solid fantasy tale that reminds me more of the story of Job, with Branan Lachlan's trials and tribulations. The character development is wonderful, each one having a definite voice to tell their story. The plot unfolds seamlessly for an enjoyable ride that touches on dark fantasy, Celtic beliefs and all other facets of spirituality as we journey through the life of Branan and watch him fend off evil at every turn.
Good job Ms. Cerny.
This isn’t the genre of book I would normally read, but I found it intriguing and addictive.
The story is set in ancient Scotland, and the author cleverly captures the flavour of the Scottish tongue while keeping it easy to read and understand. It’s a classic story of good versus evil - the main character, Brenan, was given part of an angel’s spirit at birth, but the devil has learnt of this and has sent his En Cronin, his chief henchman, to find Brenan and turn him towards hell rather than heaven.
En Cronin finds Brenan and gives him “the devil’s kiss”, which turns him into werewolf-like demon (known as a “Tiefling”) with strong desires to murder and eat humans. The internal battle commences as he fights to overcome those temptations and avoid his slide towards eternal damnation.
As he and two Tiefling companions tramp across Scotland on the run from En Cronin, they encounter a variety of other-world creatures, often fighting for their physical existence as well as their souls. Each day is an internal battle; many also become a physical fight against the devil’s servants.
This book is a fantasy tale of good versus evil that is strangely entrancing. I really wanted to know how Brenan could satisfactorily end his fight, which drove me to continue reading.
Warning this novel contains some scenes of an adult nature.
Carol Coetzee for Readers' Favorite The Tiefling by Barbara T. Cerny is an enchanting tale. Branan Lachlan, heir to the title Earl of Glaxton, is five years old when he feels a light in his "belly" and hears angels speak. He believes he has an Angel light. A dying stranger arrives at their home and gifts him with a sword, saying it belongs to him. On a hunt, on the eve of his wedding, he is attacked by a demon and turned into an immortal monster, known as a Tiefling. He is condemned to feed on human flesh for all eternity. He believes he has an Angel light inside him. Once turned, he must leave his family, pregnant wife and all he knows behind, to ensure their protection from him, whilst he lives in a cave watching over them. He travels far and wide, all the while refusing to eat human flesh and living off animals instead. He is taunted constantly by Raum Kroni, the demon that turned him. Kroni is tasked with causing him to turn completely and eat human flesh to destroy his angelic light. Many intriguing adventures follow. An amazing book and a must-read!
The Tiefling by Barbara T. Cerny is a fascinating read. The use of Gaelic words is a wonderful touch as it matched so well with the story. It is an interesting take on creationism and evolution, woven through with touches of Heaven, hell and life on earth in old Scotland. Love, hate, evil, fear, frustration, and anger all compete for your attention in this new twist on angels, demons, and myths of Scotland. There is such interesting insight into the daily lives during the ways of old. It is a riveting read with an interesting plot, well written and totally engrossing. I look forward to more from Barbara T. Cerny. Barbara has a most vivid imagination and this shows clearly in the way she draws you into the story.
The Tiefling was a wonderful story. A story of Demons, love and "the light" all rolled into a fabulous adventure. Branan Lachlan's internal goodness must battle the demons inflicted upon him in a journey through many fascinating lands. Many lives are affected in his path along the way that will be forever changed. Barbara Cerny has a true imagination and will have you wanting more, more, more..... I loved this book and couldn't put it down. A must read.
